Horra Anderacha Coffee Plantation PLC was established in 2015 in to engage in coffee plantation, coffee processing and exporting high quality washed coffee and natural coffee from its own 1000-hectare farm and collecting from its surrounding coffee growing community.
Location:
Horra Anderacha coffee plantation is located about 61 0 Kms from Addis Ababa on Tepi-Masha Road at Yokicihichi Kebele, Anderacha woreda, Sheka Zone, SNNPR.
Ecology:
The plantation is found in a tropical rainforest with an altitude of 1900-2000 meters, with 2000mm of annual rainfall, and 13-25 degree Centigrade of annual average temperature. The soil is reddish brown, forest soil, deep and fertile with humus content. The farm is under suitable shade trees which are indigenous.
Coffee Varieties of Indigenous heirloom cultivars planted have their origin from the national research center certified and proved to be resistant to disease and resistant to disease and are free from GMO in organic substance. Selected varieties 7 4-165, 74-140,74-110,74-112,74-1 and 75-227 have already been planted and being planted.
Agronomical practice:
The cultural practices followed in the farm are geared towards balanced ecology, conservation based and grown in sustainable way that considers social and economic aspects. Emphasis is given to maintaining soil fertility and conservation through using shade, mulch, cover crop and construction ridges where there is a slope. No chemical fertilizer and insecticide are being used. Apart from maintaining indigenous trees effort is being made to plant suitable shade trees of both temporary as well as permanent nature.
Process:
Horra Anderacha coffee plantation offers fully washed coffee from its wet mill station and natural dried in raised beds coffee.
Certification:
Anderacha Coffee is an RFA ORGANIC Certified from the tropical rainforest region of Tepi-Masha in South Western Ethiopia.
