Founded in 2005, Horra Trading is engaged in coffee export, automotive assembly and freight transport as described below.
Horra Coffee export business unit is a division of Horra Trading which is engaged in purchasing, cleaning, grading and exporting Ethiopia’s Arabica green washed and natural coffee to the commercial market at large. The Export business unit is organized properly to ensure its customers satisfaction. Since its establishment, Horra exported over 10 million bags to the international market which was the biggest record number exported by a private company in Ethiopia.
We have developed a system of excellence in green coffee export that works to accommodate the quantity and quality of each buyers. Horra Trading is the largest coffee exporter in Ethiopia. In 2019 Horra exported 305,000 bags of coffee to over 20 countries major markets being Japan, The European Union, and Saudi Arabia.
In February 2015, Horra Trading has signed an agreement with India’s Bajaj Auto Ltd, the biggest manufacturer and exporter of 3 and 4 wheelers vehicles to import and distribute its products to the Ethiopia market.
When importing products to Ethiopia, Horra Trading always makes an extensive research to ensure that the products it imports are very high in quality and have a direct or indirect contribution to the national economy. Hence, by partnering with Bajaj Auto, Horra has indirectly created more jobs to millions of people using Bajaj’s RE three wheeler vehicles for public transportation.
Bajaj products deliver superior performance and gives best in class range, negligible maintenance cost and comes with service assurance. The product is specially made to keep the environment clean, which is why RE vehicle are lowest in harmful emission in its category.
Horra’s long time plan to build an automotive assembly plant has come to fruition. After acquiring a 50,000 m2 land out of which 7,200 m2 was existing assembly plant which was owned by another company for the construction of automotive assembly plant, Horra Auto assembly plant has started assembling Bajaj three wheelers and small IVECO trucks. The Plant which is called Horra Adama Automotive Assembly Arena (H4A) is located in Adama town, 100 km from Addis Ababa.
The automotive assembly plant is projected to have an annual capacity of assembling 30,000 units of Bajaj’s three wheeler and 4,000 units of four wheeler vehicles and different cars for the local market. In the very near future Horra plans to assemble high quality world renowned vehicles.
