Gelan Coffee Processing Plant
Coffee production is important to the Ethiopian economy with about 15 million people directly or indirectly deriving their livelihoods from coffee. Coffee is also a major Ethiopian export commodity generating about 50% of Ethiopia’s total export earnings. Ethiopia is the largest producer of coffee in Sub-Saharan Africa and is the fifth largest coffee producer inthe world next to Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, and Indonesia, contributing about 7 to 10% of total world coffee production. Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica coffee and produces mostly Arabica coffee. Coffee has economic, environmental as well as social significance to the country
To this end Horra Trading has completed building a massive coffee Processing plant at Gelan town in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. To date our company has finished installing state of the art coffee processing machines. The plant which is erected on a 60,000 square meters land is expected to process both clean washed and unwashed coffee to the export market through Ethiopian commodity exchange channels.
